As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in the delivery of operational and analytical support to engineering teams by managing technical data, ensuring accurate documentation and performing routine analysis. Your technical input will directly contribute to maintaining and enhancing facility infrastructure to meet operational, safety, and compliance requirements. You will work within a dedicated team situated in Derby across various workstreams, delivering flexible customer‑focused support to customers across the UK. You must be a Sole UK National and qualify for Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyse and summarise data on facilities and assets, providing technical metrics and suggested remedial actions.
- Maintain and update engineering forms and databases in an efficient manner, ensuring documentation and data accuracy.
- Write, edit and proofread technical reports, ensuring completeness and adherence to customer standards.
- Identify and correct errors across a range of engineering records, with a focus on data integrity.
- Assist senior engineers with routine calculations, compliance checks and engineering support tasks.
- Support workstream development to ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables.
- Liaise with other teams and disciplines to ensure smooth data and reporting.
- Be adaptable, as project requirements evolve, and ensure relevant parties are notified of changes in the project.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge and awareness of assessing data and producing engineering reports and manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office, spreadsheets and ability to learn engineering databases.
- Ability to follow established procedures and maintain documentation standards.
- Good analytical and self‑organisation skills.
Desirable Attributes
- Good communication skills – makes clear and convincing oral presentations, listens effectively, and clarifies information as needed.
- Experience or awareness of highly regulated industries and projects such as defence, marine or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in working with a customer and understanding customer service.
- Experience in process engineering or workstream development to improve productivity and quality.
- Experience in design and schematics / layout drawings.
- Systems or nuclear engineering background.
- Experience with operational manuals and design/technical documentation.
