Job Overview
As a scheduler or planner, you will be directly working under the head of project management and collaborate with Programme Managers and business functions.
You will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining comprehensive project plans, schedules, and timelines to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning: Consult with Programme Managers and internal departments to understand the structure, sequence and relationships of project and programme schedules.
- Schedule Development: Develop schedules that accurately reflect the sequence of activities, durations, resources and critical paths to deliver projects and programmes.
- Schedule Baseline Management: Control configuration of Project Baseline Schedules.
- Schedule Maintenance: Collaborate with internal departments to maintain the schedules: update progress, record actual durations and adjust sequencing as required.
- Assessment: Evaluate schedule performance, to identify deviations, conflicts and potential delays.
- Reporting: Report schedule performance to Project and Programme Managers, along with potential corrective actions.
- Schedule Integration: Manage the integration of schedules for linked projects and programmes.
- Required Skills (Technical Competency)
- Proven work experience as a Project Scheduler on complex projects
- Effective at planning, monitoring and reviewing
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment would be highly beneficial
- Proficiency in project scheduling software, preferably MS Project, is essential
- Experience working with SAP – or a similar ERP – would be highly beneficial
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/master’s degree or equivalent business management or related field.
- Certification as a scheduling professional would be advantageous (PMI-SP for example)
- Excellent communication skills: confident interacting with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills: multi-tasking, time management, planning.
- Relationship building capable of forming and maintaining effective relationships, throughout the business and stakeholder community.
- Good analytical skills and able to draw sound conclusions
- Able to adjust thought process and plan when the information or situation changes
- Computer literate with use of Microsoft Office.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
