Position Summary
Long term accountability for the configuration management of all designs (product, test rig, and software) at client requirements.
Administer, maintain and develop change management processes as appropriate.
Provide administration and additional PLM implementation support to the business, including training and mentoring.
Reporting directly to the Engineering resource manager for function and delivery as the PLM SME.
- Core Duties
- Ensure software configuration meets client internal, legislative and security requirements and aligns with current processes.
- Subject matter expert (SME) on configuration engineering and use of Teamcenter.
- Support the definition and creation of workflows and best practices within Teamcenter.
- Develop and maintain user guides and training material to support the use of Teamcenter.
- Hold regular training sessions with the engineering teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements and drive a continuous improvement culture.
- Monitor and manage licence usage and ensure licence compliance.
- Support cross-functional system integration with other software platforms e. g. Solid Edge, Ansys, SAP, MS Office.
- Functional Knowledge
- Strong understanding of configuration management principles, concepts, practices and standards.
- Experience of working with Teamcenter and/or other PLM systems in an administrative capacity.
- SAP awareness / user would be beneficial.
- Understanding of security classification and its impact on the functionality within PLM is beneficial.
- Business Expertise
- Collaborative and proactive approach to ways of working within cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of BOM structure/change control, engineering and manufacturing business processes.
- Leadership
- Ability to provide one-to-one training and group training sessions.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver to completion within agreed timescales.

- Ability to troubleshoot with a logical, analytical approach to problem solving.
- Nature of Impact
The role will be instrumental in the ongoing use of Teamcenter within David Brown Defence and the configuration and requirements management of IP for all future projects.
