Quest Global is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Placement Student to support the development of a Power BI dashboard solution within a key Aerospace and Defence programme. This 3-month placement will provide hands‑on experience in data analysis, reporting, stakeholder engagement and dashboard development in a client‑facing engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of Power BI dashboards for programme reporting and delivery tracking.
- Work with engineering and programme teams to understand reporting requirements and stakeholder needs.
- Assist in defining, capturing and visualising agreed KPIs between Quest Global and the client.
- Analyse existing data sources and support data cleansing and structuring activities where required.
- Create clear and effective visualisations to communicate engineering delivery performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through improved reporting and data visibility.
- Participate in meetings and workshops with internal and client stakeholders.
- Assist with documentation and presentation material relating to dashboard functionality and reporting outputs.
- Ensure reporting solutions are developed in line with data governance and business requirements.
- Gain exposure to engineering delivery processes within the Aerospace and Defence sector.
Required Skills (Technical Competency)
- Currently studying towards a degree in Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of Power BI, Microsoft Excel and data visualisation principles.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to organise and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiastic, proactive and willing to learn within a professional engineering environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and reporting platforms is desirable.
- Awareness of KPI reporting and performance metrics would be advantageous.

- Undergraduate student currently undertaking a degree (ideally software related) programme with an industrial placement or work experience component.
- Interest in data analytics, reporting and digital transformation within engineering organisations.
