At Quest Global UK, we are looking for a Door Systems Engineer – Rail / Rolling Stock for one of our projects based in England, United Kingdom.

Work Experience

  • The Engineer would need to have sound experience in passenger door systems and therefore, an in-depth knowledge of:
    • All passenger door system components, from door control units (DCUs), door design, door controls, and other mechanical systems.
    • All passenger door system functions, such as trap and drag, sensitive edge, selective door opening, etc.
    • Retractable steps and their interface with the passenger door system.
    • Interface of the passenger door system with other key systems, such as traction, train control / SDO, emergency door release/brakes.
    • Systems engineering approach, familiar with working in DOORS, managing requirements, writing SRDs, System Functional documents and test specifications.
    • Laws and Standards associated with passenger door systems (Loc & Pas NTSN, EN13752, etc.).

Role and Responsibilities

  • Defining the Architect of the Door System.
  • Integrate the systems with the door.
  • Define the system level requirements for Door systems and subsystems.
  • Needs to run entire Door and Control system starting from ARCHITECTURE, INTEGRATION and SUB-SYSTEM Design.

Required Skills

  • Solid practical experience / understanding of Systems Lifecycle and corresponding activities.
  • Previous experience in the Railroad Integration of Systems.
  • Advanced expertise in the Design and Integration of Entrance Systems.
  • Strong experience in Systems Failures Analysis and Solution Integration.
  • Experience in RAIL / ROLLING STOCK Door and Control System (MECHANICAL SYSTEMS) is a must.
  • Software Coding experience is not mandatory for this role, but Basic knowledge on SW Coding is appreciated.
