Quest Global is an organisation at the forefront of innovation and one of the world’s fastest growing engineering services firms with deep domain knowledge and recognized expertise in the top OEMs across seven industries. We are looking for humble geniuses, who believe that engineering has the potential to make the impossible, possible; innovators, who are inspired by technology and innovation, and are driven to design, develop, and test as a trusted partner for Fortune 500 customers.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the Defence industry, ensuring that all products and processes meet the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for developing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit layouts, panel/assembly definitions, design-for-manufacture documentation and supporting electrical modelling and data outputs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to carry out design activities and deliver high-quality outputs in line with customer requirements and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit layouts and assembly drawings, ensuring all design outputs meet required quality standards and delivery schedules.
  • Produce accurate design-for-manufacture documentation, bill of materials (BOM) inputs, electrical component selections and drawing definition packages to support predictable and timely engineering delivery.
  • Maintain and update electrical engineering documentation, ensuring schematics, diagrams, models and associated data remain accurate, current and well-controlled within engineering databases.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve electrical design inconsistencies, documentation gaps or data issues, ensuring design integrity and preventing delays to downstream activities.
  • Support senior engineers with routine electrical design tasks, including basic electrical calculations, compliance checks, data reviews and preparation of engineering deliverables.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to communicate electrical design intent, manage dependencies, and maintain smooth progress across project workstreams.
  • Adapt to changing project needs, proactively managing workload and keeping stakeholders informed of impacts to electrical deliverables or schedules.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven ability to create, interpret and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable routing information, circuit layouts and associated engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy in electrical documentation, modelling, diagramming and data handling.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and spreadsheets, with the ability to quickly learn and work within engineering databases and digital toolsets.
  • Ability to follow established engineering processes and maintain high standards of documentation control and configuration management.
  • Strong analytical thinking and effective self-organisation skills, with the ability to manage workload in line with project schedules.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Experience using Trimble Electrical Designer or Autodesk tools or similar CAD/CAE applications.
  • Ability to produce high-quality electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings, including basic understanding of electrical standards and symbol libraries.
  • Understanding of core electrical engineering principles relevant to low-voltage systems, electrical assemblies, harness design or control panel layouts.
  • Awareness of the engineering design lifecycle, configuration control and electrical change management processes.
  • Exposure to designing electrical components, assemblies or wiring systems in regulated industries (e.g., defence, rail, automotive, aerospace).
  • Understanding of interactions between electrical subsystems, interfaces and dependencies that influence design and layout.
