Key Responsibilities
- The engineer will develop and manage passenger door systems, including design, control units (DCUs), door mechanisms, trap and drag, sensitive edge, selective door opening, retractable steps, and interface with traction, train control/SDO, emergency door release/brakes.
- Lead a systems engineering approach using DOORS, managing requirements, writing SRDs, System Functional documents, and test specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards (Loc & Pas NTSN, EN13752, etc.).
Required Skills
- Minimum 7–10 years of practical experience with system life‑cycle activities.
- Solid understanding of systems life‑cycle and corresponding activities.
- Previous experience in railroad integration of systems.
- Advanced expertise in the design and integration of entrance systems.
- Strong experience in systems failures analysis and solution integration.
- Fluent in English.
- Qualification: BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Computer Science.
Work Experience
- Act as Architect of the Door System.
- Integrate the systems with the door.
- Define system level requirements for Door systems and subsystems.
- Run the entire Door and Control system from architecture, integration, and sub‑system design independently from day one.
- Provide long‑term project support (>20 months).
- Opportunity to settle in the UK; work‑skill visa sponsored.
- Experience in RAIL/ROLLING STOCK Door and Control System (mechanical systems) required.
- Basic knowledge of SW coding appreciated; SW coding experience not required or mandatory.
