A Design Leadplays a crucial role in the Gas Turbine and Rotary Machine industry, Oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and products. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Provide technical guidance and support to the team. Develop and implement engineering processes and procedures. At Quest Global we are seeking a highly experienced engineer to join our team.

As a Design Lead, you will be responsible for Supervising engineering teams, Establishing project goals and timelines, Managing design processes, Conducting risk assessments, Coordinating with team members, partners and clients, Ensuring regulatory compliance, Implementing technical standards, Finding solutions for technical issues and provide Expert Advice: Offer technical advice on mechanical systems to managers and staff.

A Design Lead manages the technical aspects of a project, ensuring all Gas Turbine components integrate seamlessly and effectively. This role involves leading and overseeing projects, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

  • Project Leadership:
  • Leading and managing the technical aspects of projects from initiation to completion.
  • Integration Management:
  • Ensuring seamless integration of various technical components, systems, and platforms.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Working with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to drive project success.
  • Technical Planning:
  • Developing and maintaining project plans, budgets, timelines, and technical specifications.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues related to technical integration.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensuring the project meets quality standards and relevant industry regulations.
  • Technical Support:
  • Strong understanding of reverse engineering gas turbine components such as nozzles (NGVs), bearings, turbine discs, blades, and shafts
  • Extensive experience in developing mechanical specifications, scopes of work, technical calculations, engineering drawings, and project timelines

  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Evaluating project performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to optimize future cycles.
  • Communication:
  • Effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Training and Mentoring:
  • Training and mentoring team members on technical aspects of the project.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensuring the technical solutions are secure and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.

Work Experience

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of software development, cloud platforms, DevOps, IT infrastructure, and relevant technologies.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing IT or software projects, including Agile methodologies.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the Aerospace and Rotary Machine industry.

Experience in heavy engineering industry, power transmission systems, Land and Marine based Gas turbines

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding and motivating project teams.
