Job Requirements

  • Design and model electrical routing paths within complex gearbox and drivetrain assemblies
  • Create 3D harness design using CAD tools (e.g Solid Edge electrical, NX, Solidworks)
  • Develop harness schematics, connector table, splice documentation and BOMs
  • Collaboration with gearbox and mechanical subsystems engineers to route cabling through high‑vibration, high‑temperature, or constrained environments
  • Perform interface definition for brackets, clamps, grommets and shielding solution
  • Apply MIL‑STD, DEF‑STAN, and other relevant defence electrical design standards
  • Ensure design approach considers EMC/EMI, environmental sealing, and survivability under shock, vibration and other applicable environmental loads
  • Produce engineering drawings, harness manufacturing packs, and installation instructions
  • Support prototype builds, integration testing, and root‑cause investigations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a similar field
  • 5–7+ years of experience in electrical routing, cable harness design, or power/signal distribution design
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD for routing (Solid Edge electrical, NX electrical routing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of defence platforms, heavy vehicles, or industrial machinery
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC design principles, grounding, shielding, and cable protection
  • Experience in vehicles (APCs, IFVs, artillery systems, turrets)
  • Familiarity with gearbox or drivetrain integration
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under defence programme constraints and documentation rigor
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
