Component Engineer, Mechanical- Design & Stress

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design efforts for complete Gas Turbine engines and individual subsystems.
  • Develop and validate 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and design documentation.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross‑functional teams, including Stress & Thermal Analysis, Manufacturing Engineering, and Material Science, to ensure design feasibility, durability, process compatibility, and material selection.
  • Drive design‑to‑cost initiatives—analyze and assess component and system‑level cost structures to ensure economic viability.
  • Guide design reviews and technical decision‑making with clarity and precision.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of design excellence and continuous learning.
  • Design hollow turbine blades, NGV, and analyze Fir‑Tree designs.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including leadership teams.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and compliance with engineering policies, export control, and IP standards.
  • Promote open communication and knowledge sharing across teams to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in Gas Turbine design with hands‑on exposure to full engine and component‑level development.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as Siemens NX, CATIA, or Creo.
  • Demonstrated experience working within integrated product teams.
  • Understanding of manufacturability and material application.
  • Experience in cost modelling (highly desirable).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience in leading digital twin, model‑based design initiatives and MBSE.
  • Exposure to lifecycle engineering, including serviceability and sustainment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards in the turbomachinery industry.
