Quest Global has 12-month placement opportunities for undergraduate engineers to participate in work for our prestigious client’s aerospace engineering operations. These positions are well suited to individuals looking to advance their career in gas turbine design or manufacturing engineering.
Design Engineers support the design of various aero engine and other aerospace mechanical and electrical parts. Designs include turbine blades, casings, switchboards, engine fabrications, etc. Our engineers apply their understanding of materials, functional and performance requirements, tolerance stack up, thermal, vibration and life requirements to deliver designs of these components. This team interacts with specialist areas such as materials, stress, lifing and manufacturing engineering to deliver robust designs.
Manufacturing Engineering Engineers support process planning, inspection planning, CNC and CMM programming, and zero defect initiatives across components such as turbine and compressor blades, casings, and engine fabrications. Our engineers apply their understanding of manufacturing methods and metrology to delivering manufactured components from process planning to non-conformance analysis to drive reductions in manufacturing defects.
In your placement, you will be able to understand the product development and delivery lifecycle. You will also gain appreciation of how design is converted into finished components and assembled into finished products.
Qualifications and Technical Requirements
- Currently on an academic course to Degree Level in Engineering or Science or similar
- An understanding of Gas Turbine Design/operation would be an advantage
