Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for calculating project costs and generating customer quotations for Gas Turbine Repair & Overhaul projects.
  • Compile accurate and timely quotations for Gas Turbine repairs and overhauls using information gathered from inspection reports and project specifications.
  • Nurturing relationships and interfaces with other key functions within GT Aero and Sulzer – Engineering, Inspection, Procurement, Material Control and Production.
  • Clarify project requirements and maintain relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Accountable for accurate commercial and technical handover to Project Engineer team.
  • Responsible for reporting on Order Value, Margin Review, QRT, Win percentage.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers to reduce commercial risk and maximise future business opportunities.
  • Evaluate potential risks associated with a project and incorporate these into cost estimates.
  • Create and maintain a price book for standard scopes of work including labour hours, commonly used materials and third-party costs.
  • Work closely with the minor works team to provide support as required.
  • All other duties as relevant to the post and deemed reasonably by the Company.

Work Experience

  • Good written and verbal communication (English).
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, often working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong financial acumen to calculate and forecast costs & margins.
  • Working knowledge of industrial gas turbines and/or power turbines and associated equipment.
  • Adaptable approach, able to work independently, and function effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong team player capable of working across various departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work away from home, maintaining effective communication.

Education Requirements (desirable)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or technical apprenticeship.

Job Experience

  • Experience working within a similar estimator role.
  • Experience working within the rotating equipment MRO industry.

Knowledge Requirements (professional, Technical, Language, Safety)

  • Technical knowledge of Rolls Royce gas turbine equipment in the Company’s core offering.
  • Practical knowledge of gas turbine site environment onshore and offshore.
  • Ability to interpret MRO repair methodologies.
