Senior / Principal FPGA Engineer

b Overview /b p Senior/Principal FPGA engineer focused on designing and verifying FPGA solutions in VHDL and Verilog/SystemVerilog. You will collaborate with Systems, Hardware and Software teams to address complex integration challenges and deliver robust FPGA designs. The role emphasizes timing/area constraints, traceable requirements, and high-quality documentation, with opportunities to work in aerospace/defense-relevant projects. This is a hands-on position that values technical risk mitigation, clear communication, and cross-disciplinary coordination. You will contribute to safe, reliable FPGA implementations in a demanding domain. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Develop and verify FPGA designs in VHDL/Verilog /li li Collaborate with Systems, Hardware and Software teams for integration /li li Document deliverables and maintain revision control /li li Specify timing and area constraints for Place and Route /li li Perform independent verification of FPGA designs (VHDL) /li li Coordinate day-to-day technical activities with Project Engineering Lead and other disciplines /li li Support hardware/system level verification and debugging /li li Prepare technical reports and documentation /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li ≥5 years FPGA development experience using VHDL or Verilog /li li Proficient with Mentor Graphics FPGA tools (HDL Designer, ModelSim/Questa, Precision) /li li Familiar with Xilinx/Intel/Altera/Microsemi design flows (ISE, Vivado, Quartus) /li li Experience in timing/area constraint specification for Place and Route /li li Independent verification using VHDL /li li Experience in requirements capture and management tools /li li Strong FPGA version control/revision control /li li Ability to mitigate technical risk and make technical decisions /li li Excellent written and spoken communication /li li Ability to analyze system/hardware level requirements for FPGA derivation /li li Debugging FPGA designs and supporting integration/verification at hardware and system level /li li Experience with High-Speed Serial protocols and implementations /li li Linux and scripting experience /li li Experience in writing technical reports/documentation /li /ul ul li Excellent communication (oral written) /li li Interpersonal skills /li li Cross-functional collaboration /li li VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog /li li Mentor Graphics FPGA tools (HDL Designer, ModelSim/Questa, Precision) /li li Xilinx/Intel/Altera/Microsemi design flows (ISE, Vivado, Quartus) /li /ul
