Overview
In this role you will perform stress analyses for gas turbine components, using FEA and life assessment to support design and reliability. You will collaborate with global engineering teams and present results to stakeholders, contributing to component life and endurance studies. You’ll work with an OEM on challenging aerospace projects, shaping robust solutions and documenting findings to enable informed decisions. This position offers growth in a global, multidisciplinary aerospace environment with a focus on high-precision structural analysis.

Responsibilities
- Perform 2D/3D FEA including contact, friction interfaces and elastic–plastic behaviour
- Ensure analysis meets technical, fit, form and functional requirements
- Collaborate with life management, heat transfer, materials, and design teams
- Interface with design engineering for robust and optimized solutions
- Support technical reviews and deliver presentations to internal and external customers
- Produce Design Study Summaries / Design Record Books to document activity
- Contribute to component life assessment (fatigue, damage tolerance, fracture mechanics)
- Provide input to component design and aftermarket services and repairs as needed
Key requirements
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or related engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in stress analysis
- Strong knowledge of 2D/3D stress and structural analysis of gas turbine rotating and/or static components
- Proficiency in finite element modelling tools: ANSYS Mechanical APDL / Workbench
- Experience with meshing tools: Hypermesh, UG NX
- Experience with CAD tools: UG NX
- Understanding of non-linear analysis, frictional contact, elastic–plastic behaviour
- Experience in component life analysis (fatigue, fracture mechanics, damage tolerance)
- Familiarity with aftermarket services or repair engineering (advantageous)
- Proficient in Windows-based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
