b Overview /b p In this role you deliver rock engineering, geology, and groundwater assessments to support complex infrastructure and nuclear projects. You will work with ground investigations, 3D geological modelling, and multidisciplinary design teams to manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance. The position offers the chance to apply advanced modelling and governance practices to high-stakes environments, shaping safe, innovative engineering solutions. You will collaborate across disciplines to drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Interpret borehole, lab, and field data for rock mass characterisation and design properties. /li li Lead ground investigations, feasibility studies, and data interpretation. /li li Develop 3D geological and structural models using Leapfrog Geo, OpenGround, Civil 3D. /li li Assess groundwater regime and hydrogeological risk (dewatering, transport, recharge). /li li Perform numerical and empirical stability analyses (FLAC2D/3D, UDEC, 3DEC, MODFLOW, FEFLOW, SEEP/W). /li li Provide technical input to safety-critical designs and coordinate multidisciplinary teams. /li li Conduct independent technical assurance, regulatory engagement, and client communications. /li li Offer construction support for unexpected geological conditions; ensure governance and compliance. /li li Engage stakeholders through workshops and risk reviews; mentor and share knowledge. /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Degree-qualified; working toward professional chartered status (CGeol, CEng, CSci or equivalent). /li li Experience in engineering geology, ground investigations, site characterisation, and geological risk assessment. /li li Familiar with geological modelling, hydrogeology, geomorphology, and ground-related hazards. /li /ul ul li multidisciplinary coordination /li li stakeholder engagement /li li mentoring /li li Rock Engineering — rock mass characterisation, stability analysis, discontinuity assessment /li li Engineering Geology — GI design, site characterisation, geological risk assessment /li li Hydrogeology — groundwater flow, aquifer behaviour, dewatering, contaminant transport /li /ul
