Overview
In this role you lead an off-site, multi-disciplinary team delivering engineering administration, asset management and technical support for a Defence customer. You ensure accurate, well-structured engineering information and drive quality, efficiency and new workstreams. You will build team capability, engage customers and champion continuous improvement in a regulated environment. This is a chance to impact delivery throughput and data integrity while collaborating across locations and disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Monitor workflow throughput and remove bottlenecks to enable predictable delivery
- Deliver high-quality engineering outputs including data updates, diagrams and drawings
- Maintain QA and configuration control across deliverables
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs to satisfy customer requirements
- Keep engineering records accurate and accessible for the customer
- Lead productivity and continuous-improvement initiatives to streamline processes
- Foster positive customer relationships as a service-focused contact
- Identify and shape new workstreams and pilot growth of the service
- Communicate effectively across locations and travel as needed
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement to optimise efficiency
Key requirements
- Degree in an engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience managing engineering delivery or technical teams in Defence, regulated or safety-critical environments
- Strong understanding of engineering documentation workflows, data management, technical records and multi-disciplinary inputs (drawings, schematics, reports, inspections, calculations)
- Demonstrated ability to drive improvements in quality, efficiency and consistency across technical workstreams
- Strong understanding and experience of Continuous Improvement and LEAN principles
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills with a service-oriented mindset
- Experience balancing delivery throughput, team wellbeing and customer expectations
