Customer owns and operates complex marine engineering infrastructure at Devonport (Plymouth) delivering through-life engineering services, technology, equipment consultancy and training to global defence and civil customers. Today the main aim is to deliver infrastructure at the right time and optimum cost & the right place, in order to fulfill this requirement several initiatives and projects are taken up and Quest Global is expected to get involved at various stages of the project to carry out activities like studies, report generation, detailed design, and various maintenance workflows.
Overview of the role
The role requires an experienced Marine / Structural engineer to work within the Technical Authority to define the engineering requirements for the ship caisson as an intelligent customer. You will provide direct support and oversight of the contractor during the design and construction of the caisson, with opportunities to travel as part of this role.
An individual will have the following experience:
- Design and substantiation of steel structures to Eurocodes.
- Weld specifications and inspections.
Desirable experience:
- Nuclear Safety Assurance.
- Pumping systems.
- Seismic.
Knowledge:
- Finite Element analysis.
Reporting structure: You will report directly to the Operation Support Manager within the Technical Authority. Any project-specific reporting will be via the project\’s Design Manager.
