The ideal candidates will have the following characteristics and skills:
Requirements:- Currently working as a software developer with a strong foundation in computing, engineering, and simulation.
- Joining the Modelling & Simulation (M&S) discipline within the customer team, supporting development across the product lifecycle, from concept analysis to Test & Evaluation (T&E) and Training.
- Developing active cockpit simulators and supporting utilities, prototyping new avionic and cockpit designs.
- This is a fully onsite role requiring a minimum of 4 days per week at the customer site.
- Developing software, owning requirements, design, implementation, system integration, and testing.
- Adhering to systems engineering practices, reporting progress, and producing technical documentation.
- Designing technical solutions, integrating hardware and software, planning development activities, and managing risks.
- Supporting delivered systems, resolving issues, and mentoring team members.
- Developing system architectures to meet IT & IT security requirements and exploring new opportunities within T&E.
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maths, or Physics.
- Strong programming experience in C/C++ using Visual Studio.
- Knowledge of cockpit Human Machine Interface (HMI) and configuration control tools like Mercurial.
- Ability to work independently, be proactive, and think creatively.
- Security clearance required.
- Experience in task leading, QMS documentation, mentoring, Linux, avionics/mission systems, Jira, and simulation interoperability standards.
- Good communication skills and confidence in stakeholder presentations.
- Interest or knowledge in military aircraft domain.
- HND/HNC, BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng in a relevant STEM subject or equivalent experience.
- Must be a UK or EU citizen or hold a valid work permit, with background checks (BPSS) clearance.
