As a Technical Publications Engineer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality technical documentation, including installation manuals, user guides, and other technical writing requirements. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, clear, and user-friendly documentation that meets customer and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Author and update installation manuals, maintenance procedures, service manuals, engineering change documentations and assembly and disassembly instructions and any other client-facing technical documentation.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, CAD models and BOMs to develop user-centric documentation.
- Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing, and product teams to understand product functionality.
- Develop content for 2D/3D illustrations using tools such as Solid Edge or equivalent.
- Work within customer processes, systems, equipment, and facilities, including the maintenance of standards, procedures, processes, and SOPs in accordance with national standards, international standards, and customer requirements.
- Support project meetings, supplier meetings, and customer meetings providing updates and support on metallurgy function related issues as required.
- Strong technical writing and editing skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and 3D models.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical assembly.
- Proficiency in authoring tools.
- Strong attention to details and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Candidate should be familiar with structural design practices and methodologies.
- Experience in designing mechanical components, parts, assemblies and subassemblies for heavy industry, power transmission systems, gears and gear boxes.
- Knowledge about subsystems that impact the mechanical design/layout of the design.
- Proficient in 3D CAD package for both modelling and drawing, ideally Solid Edge.

Work Experience Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in engineering design role/environment involving rotating machinery.
- Experience in heavy engineering industry, power transmission systems, gears and gear boxes.
- Appreciation of bolted joint analysis, shock assessment in relation to geared transmission systems.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Proficient in root cause analysis and failure mode analysis techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
