At Quest Global, UK, we are actively looking for Senior Systems Engineer to join one of our Aerospace and Defence projects based in Derby, UK.

Overview

Gas Turbine Systems Engineers are responsible for the systems design, specification and definition of high technology engineering projects in Derby and worldwide. The role offers opportunities for developing skills, knowledge and experience in this exciting industry.

Role Purpose

Deliver a package of System Design and Integration (SDI) activities tasks for the hot section of a gas turbine. The engineer will act as a bridge between engineering stakeholders, work package owners and technical teams, ensuring activities are delivered to scope and with the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements capture using the DOORS relational database system
  • Create Sub-System Requirements Documents (SSRD)
  • Create Interface Definition Documents (IDDs)
  • Create an Interface Management Plan (IMP), controlled by an Interface Control Document (ICD) to capture the overall interface strategy and progress
  • Identify and engage stakeholders across the product lifecycle
  • Support definition of workflows, requirements and interfaces of the process
  • Provide external independent advice, analysis and guidance reports for novel gas turbine technologies

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experienced Systems Engineer (Safety critical industry)
  • Gas turbine experience: technology, manufacturing and operations
  • Systems / Process modelling experience
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Additional skills / experience advantageous (not essential)
  • Knowledge of gas turbine products and business
  • Exposure to safety critical systems & functional safety analysis tools e.g. FMECA
