Love being on the warehouse floor? So do we. We're looking for a Warehouse Shift Manager who believes leadership starts by being present. This isn't a role where you'll spend your shift watching the operation from an office window. You'll be out on the floor, supporting your Team Leaders, coaching your people and making sure the operation delivers every single shift.

Reporting directly into the Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in leading a busy warehouse operation, taking ownership of your shift and ensuring performance, safety and service levels remain consistently high. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, developing people and creating a culture where everyone pulls together, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As Warehouse Shift Manager, you'll be responsible for the smooth running of your shift across all warehouse activities including Goods In, Picking, Packing, Replenishment and Dispatch. You'll lead from the front, making decisions in real time, supporting your Team Leaders and ensuring your operation delivers against productivity, quality and customer service targets. You'll be trusted to run your shift like it's your own business, taking ownership of people, performance and continuous improvement while working closely with the Operations Manager to help drive the site forward.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Taking full ownership of warehouse operations throughout your shift.
  • Leading, coaching and developing Team Leaders, FLT Drivers and Warehouse Operatives.
  • Delivering daily productivity, quality, safety and service KPIs.
  • Running engaging shift briefings that set expectations and motivate the team.
  • Managing labour effectively to meet changing workloads and customer demands.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and training of new colleagues.
  • Coaching performance and dealing confidently with day‑to‑day people management issues.
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
  • Identifying operational issues quickly and implementing practical solutions.
  • Driving continuous improvement and encouraging your team to challenge the status quo.
  • Completing clear shift handovers and communicating effectively with the wider management team.

About You

You’ll be the type of leader who naturally gets involved. You enjoy being out with your team, understand what good looks like and aren’t afraid to roll your sleeves up when the operation needs you. You’ll probably have:

  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Shift Manager, Warehouse Supervisor or Team Manager within a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
  • Strong people management and coaching skills.
  • Experience leading through Team Leaders and managing larger operational teams.
  • A hands‑on leadership style with excellent communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of warehouse KPIs including productivity, accuracy, service levels and labour planning.
  • Experience working with WMS and warehouse technology.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and warehouse best practice.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to be part of a growing operation where your contribution genuinely matters. You’ll work alongside an Operations Manager who believes in visible leadership, giving you the support, trust and autonomy to run your shift while continuing to develop your own career. If you’re looking for a role where you’ll be challenged, trusted and given the opportunity to make a real impact every day, we’d love to hear from you.
