We are currently recruiting for an experienced Chef to join a friendly and professional care home in Welwyn Garden City (AL7). This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who is passionate about providing nutritious, home-cooked meals and understands the important role food plays in residents' health, wellbeing and quality of life.
Main Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking high-quality meals for residents
- Catering for a range of dietary, nutritional and cultural requirements
- Ensuring all meals are presented to a high standard
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Managing stock rotation and assisting with ordering supplies
- Completing food safety and compliance records
- Working closely with care staff to meet residents' individual needs
- Ensuring all Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH procedures are followed
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Chef or Cook within a care home environment
- Good understanding of specialist diets and nutritional requirements for older people
- Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to update)
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy kitchen
- Reliable, organised and professional approach to work
