Quest Employment are currently recruiting for an experienced Storeman to join a growing aerospace engineering business based in Warwick. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with experience in stores, inventory management or warehouse operations. Working closely with the Stores & Purchasing Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of goods in, goods out and inventory control while supporting workshop operations.

The Role

  • Goods In
    • Processing incoming goods and materials into the business
    • Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records
    • Ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations, including correct labelling, storage and handling of materials
    • Assisting with the purchasing of consumable items
    • Maintaining compliant and organised storage areas in line with company procedures
  • Goods Out
    • Coordinating the dispatch of goods and materials
    • Liaising with transport providers to ensure timely deliveries
    • Supporting the Import & Export Executive with accurate export documentation
    • Ensuring all outgoing goods are processed efficiently and accurately
  • Material Handling
    • Processing completed parts from the workshop into storage locations
    • Maintaining high housekeeping standards within workshop and storage areas
    • Supplying workshop technicians and production staff with required parts and consumables
    • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the stores department
  • Stores & Purchasing Support
    • Assisting with monthly and quarterly stores reporting
    • Preparing and analysing stock forecasting reports
    • Carrying out regular stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy
    • Raising and managing purchase orders
    • Liaising with suppliers regarding deliveries and outstanding orders
    • Completing routine compliance checks within the stores department

Key Skills and Experience

  • Have previous experience in a Storeman, Stores or Inventory Management role
  • Have a strong understanding of warehouse and stock control procedures
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Have knowledge of COSHH regulations and Health & Safety requirements
  • Possess excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Are able to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Are reliable, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience within stores, warehousing or inventory management is essential
  • Experience using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems is desirable
  • Forklift Truck Licence preferred
  • Familiarity with customs documentation and international shipping practices is advantageous
  • Basic understanding of customs, import and export compliance would be beneficial
