We are currently recruiting for an experienced Chef to join a friendly and professional care home in Welwyn Garden City (AL7). This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who is passionate about providing nutritious, home-cooked meals and understands the important role food plays in residents' health, wellbeing and quality of life.
- Preparing and cooking high-quality meals for residents
- Catering for a range of dietary, nutritional and cultural requirements
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Completing food safety and compliance records
- Working closely with care staff to meet residents' individual needs
- Ensuring all Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH procedures are followed
Previous experience working as a Chef or Cook within a care home environment is required, along with a good understanding of specialist diets and nutritional requirements for older people. A Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to update) and strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance procedures are essential. The ability to work independently and manage a busy kitchen is also important.
