If you’re a paralegal who enjoys variety, likes being close to the business (not hidden behind endless files), and wants a role where your work actually makes a difference — keep reading.

This is a proper in-house paralegal role, supporting a busy legal function across contracts, compliance, disputes, and day-to-day legal operations. No two days are the same, and you’ll be trusted to get stuck in.

The Role (what you’ll actually be doing)

  • You’ll be supporting the legal function across a broad mix of work, including:
  • Litigation & disputes
  • Liaising with external solicitors when needed
  • Helping gather evidence, prepare documents, and organise files
  • Supporting claims, disputes, and employment matters
  • Managing a varied caseload
  • Contracts & drafting
  • Drafting, reviewing, and amending commercial agreements (NDAs, supplier and customer contracts, terms & conditions, employment documents, etc.)
  • Supporting updates and rollouts of company terms and policies
  • Legal & business support
  • Providing day-to-day legal admin support to senior stakeholders
  • Preparing legal summaries, briefing notes, and research memos
  • Responding to internal queries from Operations, Sales, HR, and Finance
  • Helping improve internal legal processes and procedures
  • Compliance & data protection
  • Supporting GDPR processes (DSARs, privacy notices, retention schedules)
  • Maintaining compliance registers, training logs, and risk documentation
  • Assisting with due diligence for clients, suppliers, and partners

What we’re looking for

  • You’ll need:
  • Previous experience as a paralegal or legal administrator (in-house or law firm)
  • A good understanding of contract law and commercial realities
  • Strong drafting, proofreading, and document management skills
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation
  • Clear, confident communication
  • Discretion and professionalism

Nice to have:

  • Law degree / LLB / LPC / SQE studies
  • GDPR or compliance exposure

What you might not like (being honest)

  • This isn’t a narrow, siloed role — you’ll be spinning a few plates at once
  • You’ll deal with lots of internal queries, some of them last-minute
  • It’s not wall-to-wall “pure legal theory” — there’s practical admin involved
  • You’ll need to be comfortable chasing information and keeping people on track
  • It’s part-time, so you’ll need to manage your time well and hit the ground running

What kind of person will thrive here

  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Calm under pressure, with common sense and commercial awareness
  • Happy working independently and as part of a wider business
  • Approachable, professional, and reliable

Why this role stands out

  • Genuine in-house exposure
  • Real variety across contracts, compliance, disputes, and business support
  • Part-time hours with proper responsibility
  • A role where common sense is valued as much as legal knowledge
