Location: Northampton
Salary:£27500 to £29000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday | 37.5 hours per week
Shift Options: 08:0016:00 or 10:0018:00
Break: 30-minute lunch break

Experienced Stock Controller Required Northampton
Quest Employment is currently recruiting an experienced Stock Controller to join a busy distribution operation based in Northampton.
This is a hands-on warehouse position with a strong focus on stock accuracy, inventory control and investigating discrepancies.
The successful candidate will take ownership of stock integrity, ensuring physical stock accurately matches the warehouse management system and helping identify improvements to reduce errors.
The company operates from a modern 140,000 sq. ft. distribution facility and offers a fast-paced but supportive working environment.
The Role
As a Stock Controller, your responsibilities may include:
- Completing scheduled cycle counts, spot checks and stocktakes
- Maintaining accurate stock records using the warehouse management system
- Investigating stock discrepancies and identifying root causes
- Processing authorised stock adjustments and maintaining an audit trail
- Checking products, quantities, barcodes and warehouse locations
- Identifying and correcting misplaced or incorrectly labelled stock
- Monitoring stock movements, receipts, replenishments and despatches
- Controlling damaged, returned and quarantined stock
- Monitoring stock rotation, batch information and date-sensitive products xgikmsk where applicable
- Working closely with Goods In, Picking, Packing and Management teams
- Reporting recurring discrepancies, damaged stock and process issues
- Supporting warehouse audits and continuous improvement projects
- Recommending improvements to increase stock accuracy and reduce picking errors
- Supporting the wider warehouse operation when required
- Following all health and safety procedures and reporting hazards or near misses
