We are currently supporting a well-established organisation in the appointment of a Field Service Engineer to join their growing service team. This is a field-based role offering a varied workload across maintenance, breakdown support, installation, and commissioning activities. It presents an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer seeking a position with autonomy, structure, and long-term development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out fault finding, diagnostics, and repair work
  • Responding to reactive breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
  • Undertaking installation and commissioning of equipment
  • Replacing components and carrying out system upgrades where required
  • Delivering operator training and handovers on completed installations
  • Completing service documentation and reports accurately

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias and demonstrable experience across:

  • Electrical systems and diagnostics
  • PLCs (ideally Siemens S5/S7)
  • Mechanical systems
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics

Applicants should hold a relevant qualification (e.g. HNC/HND) or have completed a recognised apprenticeship, supported by strong practical experience. You will be self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism when dealing with customers. A flexible approach to travel, overtime, and occasional overnight stays is required.
