Quest Employment is recruiting for experienced Tent Builders on behalf of a growing, well-established company that specialises in large-scale event structures and semi-permanent buildings across the UK and Europe.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile events, sporting venues, exhibitions, hospitality projects, and major temporary structures throughout the UK, with occasional overseas work.

The Role

  • Support the erection and dismantling of temporary structures and semi-permanent buildings at a variety of locations across the UK and Europe.
  • No two days are the same, with projects changing regularly. Predominantly Monday to Friday.
  • Working away may involve up to 12 consecutive days depending on the project.
  • Early starts and overnight stays are required.
  • Paid time starts from collection at the Swan Valley depot.
  • Standard week is 40 hours, with overtime paid for any hours worked above this, and the option to bank overtime hours for quieter periods up to 240 hours per year.
  • Constructing and dismantling temporary event structures and buildings.
  • Loading and unloading equipment and materials.
  • Travelling to projects across the UK and occasionally Europe.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A valid passport and willingness to travel abroad when required.
  • Previous experience in tent building, construction, labouring, events, or a similar hands-on role.
  • Confidence working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Training opportunities include:

  • CSCS
  • Forklift
  • MEWP / aerial platform training
  • Additional forklift licences or certificates would be an advantage and may lead to a higher pay rate following interview assessment.

Starting rate from £15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

  • Weekly pay.
  • Higher rates available for experienced Tent Builders, depending on skills and qualifications.
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours.
  • Saturday overtime.
  • Sunday overtime paid at double time.
  • £12 overnight allowance.
  • £7 daily site allowance when working away.
  • Hotels fully paid for during overnight stays.
  • Meals provided while away, including breakfast and evening meal with drinks.
  • Company vehicles, tools, and workwear supplied.
  • 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
  • Salary and progression reviews every 6 months.
  • Opportunities to progress into senior and supervisory positions.
  • Full training and development provided.
  • Temp to perm opportunity.

Please note: on the first day of each project, employees will need to provide their own food until arrival on site, where dinner will be provided.
