HGV / Vehicle Mechanic Location: Croft, Leicester, LE9 Salary: £31,000 - £33,000 per annum + up to 10% bonus, depending on experience Contract: Temporary ongoing Hours: Full time core working hours Pay: Weekly pay via Quest Employment Quest Employment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established public-sector organisation for experienced HGV / Vehicle Mechanics to join their busy vehicle maintenance operation in Croft, Leicester . This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic with experience working on HGVs, 7.5-tonne vehicles, commercial vehicles or a range of council/public-service vehicles. The Role As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a varied fleet of vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, reliable and compliant with relevant standards. Your duties will include: Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance. Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs efficiently. Working on HGVs, 7.5-tonne vehicles and other commercial/council vehicles. Inspecting vehicles to identify defects and safety issues. Carrying out mechanical repairs and component replacements. Using diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools where required. Completing maintenance records and relevant vehicle documentation. Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety procedures. Supporting the wider workshop team to maintain fleet availability. Essential Qualifications
