The Role

As a Highways Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily highways maintenance and repair operations, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising highways operatives and subcontractors on site
  • Planning and coordinating daily work activities
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
  • Conducting site inspections and quality checks
  • Managing materials, equipment, and resources effectively
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, and internal teams
  • Completing site documentation and reports
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience within highways maintenance, roadworks, or civil engineering
  • Proven supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Relevant industry qualifications (NRSWA, SSSTS/SMSTS, CSCS)
