Its Leicester operation specialises in premium cooked meats and sausages and is also the UK's largest producer of pâté. The site has a strong reputation for quality, traditional expertise and modern food manufacturing. The Role As a Trainee Butcher, you will receive training and support while developing practical skills within a professional food manufacturing environment. Your duties may include: Learning and developing basic butchery and meat preparation skills. Preparing and handling meat in line with company procedures. Learning to use butchery equipment safely and correctly. Working to strict food safety, hygiene and quality standards. Following production specifications and processes. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene. Working efficiently to meet production requirements. Supporting experienced butchers and the wider production team. Carrying out tasks safely and in accordance with site procedures. Developing your skills and knowledge through on-the-job training. About You Previous butchery or food manufacturing experience is not essential. We are looking for people who: Are genuinely
willing to learn and develop new skills . Have a positive attitude and good work ethic. Are reliable and punctual. Can follow instructions and established procedures. Have good attention to detail. Are comfortable working as part of a team. Understand the importance of hygiene, quality and food safety. Are physically capable of working in a busy production environment. Are committed to the Monday-to-Friday,
6:00am–2:00pm
shift. A background in food production, manufacturing, warehouse work, hospitality or similar environments would be useful, but
