Recycling Advisor in Leicester

Quest Employment are recruiting for recycling advisors to join a well-established Environment & Waste Management team. The Role As a Recycling Advisor, you will play an important role in helping members of the public correctly dispose of and recycle their waste at local Leicestershire sites You will provide friendly, practical advice to customers while helping to maximise recycling rates and ensuring waste is separated correctly. Key Responsibilities Assist and advise customers on the correct disposal and recycling of waste materials. Provide a friendly, helpful and customer-focused service. Ensure different waste streams are correctly separated and are not mixed. Help maintain clean and uncontaminated recyclable materials. Check permits for vans and trailers and ensure permitted waste requirements are followed. Maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment. Follow all Health & Safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work and environmental requirements. Ensure site operations comply with relevant legislation and environmental licences. Complete relevant paperwork, requisitions and tonnage returns accurately. Identify opportunities to improve customer service and recycling rates. Respond professionally to customer queries and complaints. Work effectively as part of a team. Operate fixed and mobile plant where required and where appropriately trained. Support the achievement of site recycling targets and service standards. About You We are looking for people who are: Customer-focused with a friendly and approachable manner. Comfortable working face-to-face with members of the public. Able to communicate clearly and professionally. Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team. Comfortable working in a manual environment where Health & Safety is a priority. Willing to learn new skills and undertake a variety of tasks. Flexible and able to work across different locations when required. Confident following procedures and Safe Systems of Work. Committed to providing a high standard of customer service. Willing to embrace change and take responsibility for their own performance. Experience Required Previous experience in waste management, recycling, a manual working environment or a customer-facing role would be beneficial. Experience of working in an environment where Health & Safety is a key priority is also desirable.
