About the Role
Quest Employment is recruiting on behalf of a leading local authority for an experienced Tree Officer to join their Forestry and Arboriculture team based in Glenfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable arboriculture professional looking for a long-term position with regular weekday hours. You'll play an important role in managing and protecting tree assets across Leicestershire, supporting environmental projects, woodland management, and community tree planting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and inspecting tree assets across the local authority area
- Conducting tree surveys, inspections, and risk assessments
- Providing arboricultural advice and recommendations
- Supporting woodland management and conservation projects
- Assisting with tree planting schemes and environmental initiatives
- Monitoring tree health, maintenance, and contractor performance
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and safety standards
- Responding to enquiries relating to trees and arboriculture matters
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within arboriculture, forestry, or tree management
- Strong knowledge of tree species, health, and maintenance practices
- Experience carrying out inspections and risk assessments
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
