The Role
We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about people going home safely at the end of every shift. Someone who isn't afraid to challenge unsafe behaviours, investigate incidents properly and drive real improvements across the site. You will be the person helping shape the safety culture of a busy logistics operation. If you enjoy audits, investigations, risk assessments and compliance, you'll like this role. If you enjoy influencing people, building relationships and making safety part of everyday operations rather than a box-ticking exercise, you'll love it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the site to maintain compliance across Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
- Driving a positive safety culture across the warehouse operation
- Conducting site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
- Supporting accident, incident and near-miss investigations
- Producing reports and analysing SHEQ performance data
- Working closely with operational managers to identify risks and implement improvements
- Maintaining risk assessments and ensuring they remain current and effective
- Coordinating internal audits and supporting external audits
- Delivering management training and SHEQ awareness sessions
- Supporting emergency planning, business continuity and site compliance activities
- Monitoring licences, certifications and legal requirements
- Helping implement corrective actions and preventative measures following incidents and audits
- Supporting the attainment and maintenance of industry accreditations
What You'll Need
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
- Experience within Health & Safety, SHEQ, Compliance or Risk Management
- Ideally experience within warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or transport
- Experience conducting audits, inspections or investigations
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Strong report writing and administration skills
- Confidence challenging unsafe behaviours and influencing stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build credibility at all levels
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day
This is a varied role where no two days look the same. You’ll be working closely with operational leaders, safety champions and colleagues across the site to continually improve standards and reduce risk.
What Might Not Suit You
This isn't the role for someone who wants to sit in an office all day. You need to enjoy being visible. You need to be comfortable having difficult conversations. You’ll need the confidence to challenge managers when necessary and the resilience to keep driving standards even when it's not always popular.
The Person
You’ll be naturally curious. When something goes wrong, you’ll want to know why. When you spot a risk, you’ll want to fix it. You’ll be the type of person who asks questions, digs into root causes and genuinely wants to make improvements rather than simply writing reports about them. Most importantly, you’ll understand that Health & Safety isn't about paperwork. It's about people.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join a large, fast-paced logistics operation where safety, compliance and continuous improvement are genuinely valued. You’ll work alongside experienced operational and SHEQ professionals, gain exposure to a complex logistics environment and play a key role in shaping the site's safety culture. If you're looking for a role where you can make a visible impact, develop your SHEQ career and help create a safer, better workplace, we'd love to hear from you.
