Some customer service jobs are about answering emails and updating spreadsheets. This isn't one of them. This is a role that sits right at the heart of a major customer account. You'll be the first point of contact for all customer queries, the person customers trust to get answers, solve problems and keep things moving when things don't go to plan. No two days will be the same as you navigate your way around resolving customer queries, using Excel to record, analyse and report on data as well as being the key point of contact and connection between the customer and operations!

If you're the type of person who likes taking ownership, building relationships and genuinely making a difference to the customer experience, this could be exactly what you're looking for. You'll be working closely with operations, transport providers, suppliers and customers, ensuring orders move smoothly from receipt through to delivery. It's a role where attention to detail matters, communication is everything, and no two days are ever quite the same.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Acting as the main point of contact for customer enquiries and requests
  • Managing inbound and outbound customer communications professionally and efficiently
  • Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, transport providers and internal teams
  • Handling tracking enquiries and ensuring customer SLAs are consistently met
  • Managing customer orders from receipt through to successful delivery
  • Investigating and resolving customer issues, complaints and service queries
  • Producing detailed reports on customer activity, service performance and operational trends
  • Monitoring KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Preparing shipping documentation, invoices and customer paperwork accurately
  • Maintaining customer records, order information and account updates
  • Supporting pallet management, trailer fills and operational administration
  • Working closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across service and operational processes

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within a logistics, transport, warehousing or supply chain environment would be beneficial
  • Strong customer service experience in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence communicating with customers at all levels
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to create detailed reports and analyse data
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience handling customer complaints and problem-solving effectively
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership

Why This Role?

This is a genuinely important position within the operation. You'll be representing the business to a key customer every day, acting as the link between the customer and the operational teams delivering the service. The successful person will quickly become a trusted contact, helping to drive customer satisfaction, improve service performance and strengthen long-term relationships. We're looking for someone who understands that great customer service isn't just about responding to problems — it's about building trust, communicating effectively and making things happen. If you have a logistics background or similar, enjoy working with customers and can confidently turn data into meaningful reports and insights, we'd love to hear from you.
