This isn’t the “grab a screwdriver and fix a leaky tap” kind of facilities role. If you’re picturing yourself wandering around with a toolbox looking heroic — this isn’t that job. If, however, you’re the kind of person who:
- Knows exactly who to call when something breaks
- Can juggle contractors, compliance, and chaos without breaking a sweat
- Gets a weird sense of satisfaction from a perfectly organised spreadsheet
What’s the gig? You’ll be the brains behind the building. Not fixing things yourself - but making sure everything gets done:
- Managing contractors (the good, the bad, and the occasionally late)
- Keeping compliance watertight (think H&S, inspections, service records)
- Owning schedules, systems, and processes so nothing slips through the cracks
- Being the calm in the “the dock door’s not working” storm
- Keeping the site safe, clean, functional, and running like clockwork
In short: you make everything work… without lifting a spanner.
What you’ll actually do day-to-day:
- Coordinate maintenance, suppliers and service partners
- Track compliance (legionella, fire systems, emergency lighting, etc.)
- Make sure paperwork is done, filed, chased, and actually completed
- Keep an eye on costs and spot smarter ways of doing things
- Communicate with everyone from contractors to senior stakeholders
- Jump on issues before they become problems
It’s less “fix it” and more “make sure it never becomes a crisis.”
Who we are looking for:
- We’re not after a traditional “Facilities Manager.” We want someone sharper.
- Is ridiculously organised (colour-coded optional, but encouraged)
- Loves process, structure, and keeping things on track
- Is confident speaking to contractors and stakeholders
- Can manage multiple moving parts without dropping any
- Has a proactive, “I’ve already sorted it” mindset
- Is digitally savvy — this is not a pen-and-paper setup
Bonus points if you’ve got:
- Health & Safety awareness or background
- Experience coordinating suppliers, compliance, or operations
- A knack for spotting problems before they land
Experience in facilities? Helpful. Essential? Not really. If you’ve got the organisation and mindset — we can teach the rest.
What’s it like?
- Modern, forward-thinking environment (no “old school” facilities here)
- Structured systems already in place — you’re not starting from scratch
- Supportive wider team across multiple sites
- A role where you can genuinely grow and develop
- Adults treated like adults (no micromanagement nonsense)
Why this role stands out:
- This is one of those roles that people underestimate… until they realise:
- You’re at the centre of everything
- You influence how smoothly the entire operation runs
- You become the go-to person everyone relies on
And when you’re good at it? You’re indispensable.
In a nutshell, if you’re:
- Organised
- Proactive
- A natural coordinator
- Calm under pressure
- Looking for a role with real impact
…you’ll absolutely love this.
