If spreadsheets, systems, reports and organised chaos are your thing… keep reading. Not all HR jobs are heavily people‑facing. This one? It’s much more about the engine room behind HR – the data, the systems, the reports, the admin, the accuracy and the “how has someone managed to break this spreadsheet again?” type of work. We’re looking for a highly organised Administrator to join a busy HR function supporting a fast‑paced operational business. This role sits within HR, but it is heavily administration, data, reporting and Excel focused rather than employee relations or constant face‑to‑face HR meetings.
Ideal for You – What You Love
- Spreadsheets
- Systems
- Tracking data
- Reports
- Auditing information
- Fixing admin problems
- Making processes cleaner and more efficient
Ideal for You – Who You Are
- Enjoys desk‑based work
- Likes structure and accuracy
- Is naturally organised
- Notices when something doesn’t look right
- Can handle repetitive admin without losing focus
- Enjoys working with data and systems
You do not need to be an experienced HR professional already. Strong admin, analytical and Excel skills are far more important.
The Role
You’ll be supporting the HR team with the day‑to‑day administration and systems side of the department, ensuring records, reports and HR data are accurate, up to date and compliant. There’s a lot of coordination, reporting and system management involved, so attention to detail genuinely matters here.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing and maintaining HR systems and employee records
- Updating databases and ensuring information is accurate at all times
- Producing weekly and monthly reports using Excel
- Tracking absence, time and attendance data
- Supporting onboarding and leaver administration
- Coordinating recruitment administration and compliance checks
- Auditing HR data and identifying discrepancies
- Supporting process improvements and system updates
- Working with spreadsheets, KPIs and management information daily
- Providing general HR and administrative support
What You’ll Need
- Strong administration experience
- Good Excel skills – genuinely good, not just colour‑coded cells
- Confidence working with large volumes of data
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using systems and databases daily
- Organised and able to manage workload independently
- Analytical mindset and problem‑solving ability
- Professional and confidential approach
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
HR experience would be useful, but it’s not essential. Strong admin and systems people with the right attitude will be considered.
What You Might Not Like
- It’s heavily desk‑based
- There’s a lot of data and administration
- Accuracy matters – small mistakes can create bigger problems
- This is not a walking‑around‑chatting‑with‑employees‑all‑day HR role
- There will be deadlines, reporting requests and fast turnaround expectations
What To Do Next
If you enjoy organisation, spreadsheets, systems and being the person who keeps things running properly behind the scenes, apply now. This is a genuinely good opportunity for someone who likes structure, admin and analytical work and wants to build a long‑term career within HR support and operations.
