Quest Employment is currently recruiting for a Materials Assistant on behalf of a growing and innovative manufacturing company based in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and motivated individual to join a supportive Materials Team within a successful business that continues to grow year on year. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting stock control, goods receiving, order progressing, and production operations to ensure materials are available when needed and customer expectations are met.
Full training will be provided, making this a fantastic opportunity for candidates with strong administrative skills who are looking to develop a career within materials, purchasing, and stock control.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Materials Controller with perpetual stock checks and inventory accuracy
- Receive goods, book stock into the system, and store materials in line with company procedures
- Pick and prepare production kits for manufacturing orders
- Update and progress open purchase orders with suppliers
- Assist with packing, dispatching, and booking courier collections
- Maintain and update supplier contact information
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure deliveries arrive on time
- Communicate supplier updates and delivery issues internally
- Work closely with production planning teams to provide accurate delivery information
- Support continuous improvement of stores processes and layouts
- Assist the wider Materials Team as required
- Work towards individual and company performance targets
- Previous administrative experience within a fast-paced office environment
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communicator with a professional telephone manner
- Good written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Able to prioritise workload effectively and work independently
- Willing to learn and develop knowledge of products, systems, and processes
- Team player with a positive and proactive attitude
- Good dexterity and eyesight due to handling small components
- ERP system experience
