We are recruiting for an experienced Chef Manager to lead the catering operation within a well-established care home in Stocksbridge, Sheffield (S36). This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and organised kitchen professional who enjoys leading a team, delivering high-quality meals, and making a positive difference to residents' daily lives.
The Role
- Overall management of the kitchen, ensuring residents receive fresh, nutritious, and well-presented meals every day.
- Leading and managing the kitchen team.
- Planning, preparing and serving meals throughout the day.
- Managing food ordering, stock control and supplier relationships.
- Producing staff rotas and ensuring adequate shift coverage.
- Maintaining exceptional food hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Completing all kitchen compliance and due diligence documentation.
- Training and supporting staff on food safety and allergen procedures.
- Preparing baked goods and catering for special dining requests when required.
- Working closely with the Home Manager and wider care team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Chef Manager or senior kitchen leadership role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and kitchen compliance.
- Experience within care homes, healthcare catering, hospitality or a similar environment.
- A passion for delivering high-quality food and service.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy kitchen operation.
