Forklift Engineer / Forklift Service Engineer

- Salary: £28,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Break: 30 minutes unpaid
- Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Forklift Engineer – Northampton Quest Employment are recruiting for an experienced
to join a well-established operation based in Northampton, NN4.This is a permanent opportunity offering stable Monday-to-Friday hours, a salary of up to £38,000 depending on experience, overtime opportunities and long-term career stability.
The Role
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks and MHE
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections
- Attending breakdowns and completing repairs efficiently
- Identifying damaged or worn components and completing necessary repairs
- Ensuring equipment is safe, operational and ready for use
- Completing service and maintenance records accurately
- Reporting faults, damage and safety concerns
- Working independently and alongside the wider engineering team
- Following all company Health & Safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- Ideally, you will have previous experience as a: Forklift Engineer / Forklift Technician / FLT Engineer / MHE Engineer / Forklift Service Engineer
- Experience working with any combination of diesel, LPG, electric, counterbalance, reach trucks or other MHE would be highly desirable.
You should also have:
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience servicing and repairing mechanical equipment
- Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge
- Confidence diagnosing breakdowns
- A practical, hands‑on approach
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A reliable and professional attitude
- A desire for a stable, long-term position
Candidates from plant engineering, agricultural machinery, HGV, automotive or similar mechanical backgrounds may also be considered where they have strong transferable servicing and fault-finding experience.
