Hours: Monday-Thursday 7.30am-3.30pm; Friday 7.30am-3.00pm
Lunch: 30-minute unpaid break each day

Quest Employment are currently recruiting for Craft Gardeners to join a large local public-sector organisation responsible for the maintenance and management of Leicester’s parks, green spaces and public open areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced gardener or grounds maintenance professional looking for a long-term role, with the potential to become permanent.
The Role
As a Craft Gardener, you will play an important role in maintaining attractive, safe and well-presented parks, gardens and open spaces across Leicester.
Your duties will include:

Carrying out general gardening and grounds maintenance duties.

Planting, pruning, weeding and maintaining flower beds, shrubs, trees and other planted areas.

Grass cutting and general turf maintenance.

Using a range of gardening and grounds maintenance tools and equipment.

Carrying out hedge trimming and other seasonal maintenance work.

Maintaining parks, public gardens, verges and other landscaped areas to a high standard.

Assisting with planting schemes and seasonal displays.

Keeping pathways, beds and surrounding areas tidy and presentable.

Removing weeds, leaves, litter and other debris from maintained areas.

Carrying out routine maintenance and ensuring tools and equipment are used safely.

Working as part of a wider parks and grounds maintenance team.

Following relevant health and safety procedures and working safely around members of the public.

Carrying out other associated horticultural and grounds maintenance duties as required.
About You
We are looking for candidates who have practical gardening or grounds maintenance experience and take pride in the quality of their work.
You should be:

Experienced in gardening, horticulture or grounds maintenance.

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
-
Physically fit and able to carry out manual work throughout the working day.

Confident using gardening and grounds maintenance tools.

Able to work independently as well as as part of a team.
-
Reliable, punctual and able to maintain a consistently high standard of work.

Safety-conscious, particularly when working in public areas.
-
Professional and courteous when dealing with members of the public.
A valid full UK driving licence is preferred, as the role may involve travelling between different parks, gardens or operational locations.

Monday–Thursday: 7.30am–3.30pm
Friday: 7.30am–3.00pm
There is a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
