We are currently recruiting for a Relief Chef to support a number of residential care homes across the Birmingham area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef who enjoys variety in their role and is passionate about providing high-quality, nutritious meals for residents.
The Role
As a Relief Chef, you will provide cover across multiple sites, supporting kitchen teams during holidays, sickness, and other absences. You will play a key role in ensuring residents continue to receive excellent food and service standards at all times.
Duties include:
- Preparing and cooking fresh meals for residents
- Supporting and leading kitchen teams when required
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Completing food safety and compliance documentation
- Assisting with stock control and ordering
- Ensuring dietary requirements and nutritional needs are met
- Covering Chef and Chef Manager absences across different locations
What We're Looking For
- Previous chef experience, ideally within care homes, healthcare, hospitality or contract catering
- Good understanding of food hygiene and food safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different kitchen environments
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A flexible approach to travel across the Birmingham area
- A genuine passion for producing quality food and supporting residents' wellbeing
