Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma - Ponca City, OK

Monday-Friday 0930-2000

Essential Functions of Employment with DLO:

  • Show up for work, on time & prepared each and every scheduled work day.
  • Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processing that you may be over-qualified to perform.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each and every scheduled work day & work as a collaborative team member with your fellow teammates on a daily basis.

Main Duties:

  • Performs routine testing in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation and microbiology.
  • Assist with specimen processing as needed.
  • Follow employer policies.
  • Work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner.
  • Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Main responsibility will be duties in the clinical laboratory.
  • Additional duties will include assisting supervisor/manager with special projects/assignments.

Required Knowledge:

  • Understanding of standard laboratory processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must have a good understanding of laboratory quality assurance standards.
  • Must have good computer skills.

Required Experience:

  • AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology.
  • ASCP MT/MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MT/MLT certification.

Special Requirements:

  • Good customer service skills is a must.
  • Some phlebotomy tasks will be required.
  • Holiday and weekend rotation may be required.
  • May be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
  • Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
  • Frequent walking and/or standing.
  • May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
