This role is for one of our most valued clients, a chemical manufacturing business. They are a global organisation with their head office in Germany and the UK site in Liverpool. They have around 1800 employees across 24 production sites across 18 countries.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Health and Safety Manager located at their Liverpool site. The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing site-specific Health and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, conducting risk assessments, and delivering safety training. Additionally, the role involves overseeing environmental health and safety (EHS) and occupational health measures, as well as coordinating with various stakeholders to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
There aren\’t any direct reports to this role but there is a junior member of staff who will be mentored by this role.
Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate experience of managing change within a business and implementing new and/or improved processes and procedures.
They would consider an interim for this role while securing a permanent replacement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Health & Safety, Environment Health and Safety (EHS), and Occupational Health skills from a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Specific experience from within a chemical environment (ideally COMAH site)
- Experience in Safety Training
- NEBOSH certification essential
- COSHH qualification preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team while training or mentoring others
