Role Purpose

The Supply Chain Planning Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production schedule, materials planning, and supply chain performance to ensure customer orders are delivered On Time, In Full (OTIF). This role balances capacity, cost, inventory levels, and operational risk to maintain an efficient and responsive supply chain. Acting as the central point of coordination for planning activities, the role translates sales demand into practical production and material plans, working closely with production, procurement, warehouse, and supplier teams to ensure alignment and execution.

Key Objectives

  • Assist to deliver a robust and realistic production plan aligned to capacity and customer priorities
  • Ensure materials availability without excessive inventory
  • Improve schedule adherence, lead times, and working capital
  • Build a resilient, compliant, and sustainable supply chain

Key Responsibilities

  1. Production Planning & Scheduling
    • Maintain the master production schedule (MPS) across all manufacturing areas
    • Translate sales orders and forecasts into detailed production plans
    • Balance materials to create achievable schedules
    • Contribute to daily/weekly production planning reviews with operations
    • Resolve planning conflicts and re‑prioritise work in response to changes
    • Track and report plan vs actual performance (schedule adherence)
  2. Materials Planning & Inventory Control
    • Convert production plans into material requirements (MRP) within the ERP system
    • Set and manage inventory policies (min/max, safety stock, reorder points)
    • Prevent shortages, excess stock, and obsolescence
    • Maintain BOM accuracy in collaboration with engineering
    • Manage material flow: raw materials, WIP, subcontract, finished goods
  3. Supply Chain & Supplier Management
    • Work closely with procurement to ensure supplier capacity, lead times, and performance support the production plan
    • Manage inbound logistics and supplier delivery performance
    • Support cost‑reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery
    • Contribute to supplier risk management and continuity planning
    • Provide inputs to supplier ESG, sustainability, and ethical sourcing metrics
  4. ERP & Data Ownership
    • Act as the planning process owner for the ERP/MRP system
    • Ensure planning data integrity (lead times, routings, calendars, capacity)
    • Develop and maintain planning dashboards and KPIs
    • Support continuous improvement of system usage and discipline
  5. Cross‑Functional Coordination
    • Interface daily with: Manufacturing & Workshop Manager, Procurement and Warehouse Team, Sales / Project Management, Engineering & Quality
    • Act as the arbiter between demand, supply, and capacity
  6. Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
    • Identify and address root causes of: Late orders, Expedites, Excess inventory
    • Lead improvements in: Planning accuracy, Lead time reduction, Inventory turns
    • Support business continuity and supply chain risk assessments
