We are seeking an experienced
Driver & Fleet Manager to support our teams.
The Driver & Fleet Manager will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of equipment to client sites and events across the UK and perhaps abroad.
Working as part of the wider operations team, this role is responsible for maintaining high standards of vehicle safety, handling equipment with utmost care, and representing the business professionally during deliveries.
While driving is a core element of the position, the successful candidate will also support wider operational activities as required, demonstrating flexibility, teamwork, and a proactive, can-do attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage fleet maintenance, routine safety inspections, and timely repairs to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant with legal and company requirements.
- Staff management; lead, train, and support drivers and support teams
- Transport technical hardware and equipment safely and efficiently to client sites and event locations throughout the UK and possibly abroad.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment with care to prevent damage and ensure safe handling at all times.
- Support logistics planning by helping plan routes, providing updates on deliveries, reporting vehicle defects, delays, or scheduling issues as required.
- Assist with non-driving projects and operational activities when required, demonstrating flexibility and a team-focused approach.
- Represent the business professionally at all times when interacting with clients, suppliers, and external stakeholders, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the company's reputation.
Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
- Category C1+E certification is desirable
- Clean driving record with a strong commitment to safe and compliant driving practices.
- Confident in carrying out daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks, with the ability to identify and escalate any defects or issues.
- Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload technical equipment, ensuring it is protected throughout transit.
- Flexible approach to travel, with regular driving to client sites and event locations across the UK and possibly abroad.
- While driving is a key aspect of the role, there will be periods where you will support other areas of the business.
A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to assist with additional tasks are essential.
- Excellent time management, reliability, and punctuality.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Previous experience in a structured driving environment, such as supermarket distribution, logistics, or parcel delivery, is highly desirable.
- Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
