The Role
We are looking to recruit a Research Associate to expand our Technical Development team. The team works closely with Research and Development, internal and external manufacturing teams, and will contribute to the creation of best manufacturing processes to help develop CAR‑Treg therapies and generate next‑generation products. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician to contribute to a key part of our work. The role requires being onsite 5 days per week and will require flexibility to travel between both London sites (White City and London Bridge).
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments under supervision.
- Manage databases and assist in establishing relevant SOPs.
- Contribute to improvement of existing process design regarding efficiency and quality.
- Assist in designing, conducting, optimizing, and evaluating new processes in manufacturing within a GMP environment.
- Ensure that all studies, tests and procedures performed in the laboratory follow quality procedures.
- Handle mammalian and primary human immune cell cultures and perform cell culturing, isolation, cryopreservation and other processing techniques.
- Use various methodologies including flow cytometry, FACS, ELISA.
- Perform analytical assays and transfer the process to the manufacturing team.
- Ensure all processes and documentation comply with the required standard.
- Take responsibility for cleanroom and support day‑to‑day lab operations.
- Collaborate and coordinate work with other teammates to meet deadlines and goals.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Understanding of immunology and cell therapy.
- Primary human immune cell cultures in an aseptic manner.
- Demonstrable expertise in cell‑based techniques including magnetic enrichment and basic flow cytometry.
- Ability to overcome challenges and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent time management and prioritising skills.
- Minimum BSc degree in a relevant study field.
- Proven commitment to high quality work and maintenance of high standards.
