The CAD Designer is an integral team member, creating CAD designs and prototypes for our core collection and bespoke orders. The requirement to work quickly and efficiently, whilst having an eye for detail and being flexible in the approach to the role, is essential. Clear and articulate communication, good time management, record-keeping, and organisational skills are necessary to ensure you are as efficient as possible. Your contributions are integral to our journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Design client and stock pieces from order specifications
  • Produce cast-ready files; dealing directly with our metal casters
  • Assist in the design of collections for the business with illustrative renders (as well as CAD) when required
  • Liaise with sales and production staff to ensure correct design specification and ensure internal deadlines are met
  • Use 3D printing technology to provide waxes promptly ready for client appointments
  • Be prepared to be client facing on occasion when design/manufacturing advice is needed
  • Assist the senior members of the CAD team when required
  • Assist in training new CAD team members when required
  • Adhere to the due dates given and ensure the highest quality of work is produced
  • Follow up with sales staff on designs awaiting approval
  • Communicate specific order instruction queries clearly and comply with company procedures when processing client orders
  • Assist in the laser engraving of rings and use of laser cutting for merchandising when required

Requirements:

  • Technical understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes
  • Able to produce intermediate bespoke client work
  • Confident ability to cover the range of our core collection
  • Working knowledge of our technology (3D printers, laser cutter, laser engraver, CNC, etc)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate a high level of quality control
  • Follow company security procedures
