Senior Learning Mentor in Birmingham

Role Summary: Senior Learning Mentor to support growth of the school as part of the Pastoral Team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop targeted programmes to support improvements in attendance, achievement and student engagement.
• Deliver and co-ordinate effective whole‑school and targeted interventions for individuals and groups.
• Provide guidance and support that positively impacts students’ self‑esteem, wellbeing and readiness to learn.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and leadership to remove barriers to learning.
• Engage proactively with parents, carers and external agencies to provide holistic support for young people.

Qualifications:

• A proven track record of developing and delivering successful intervention programmes.
• Experience of working across a whole‑school approach as well as with targeted groups and individuals.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, staff and external professionals.
• High levels of resilience, patience and emotional intelligence, particularly when working with students who may present with complex needs or behaviours.
• A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to improving outcomes for those from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
• A clear commitment to inclusion and removing barriers to learning.
