About the role We are seeking to appoint to two Grade 6 positions within the University. Both positions will be recruited through the same competition and have the same job description and shortlisting criteria, but are based in different areas of the University and have different working arrangements. Vacancy 1 - Research Finance Supervisor - Financial Services and Commercial Accounting This post is based within the University's Finance Department and will be responsible for the financial co-ordination, administration, and budgetary aspects of a multitude of high value research and other service rendered / OSR applications and awards from major funders such UKRI, Innovate, Invest NI and EC. This person will also manage a team of staff in support of a portfolio of awarded funding. The post will be eligible for the University's hybrid working arrangements, subject to the requirements of the role and operational needs of the department. Vacancy 2 - Finance Officer - Northern Ireland Clinical Research Facility This post is based within the Northern Ireland Clinical Research Facility (NICRF) within iREACH Health. The successful candidate will be required to work on site five days per week. There is no provision for homeworking for this position due to the operational requirements of the facility. About the person The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria: A-Levels, NVQ 3 or equivalent and 4 years' experience of preparing financial management information, financial analysis/reconciliations and providing advice to inform decision making; OR Substantial recent experience of preparing financial management information, costing systems, financial analysis/reconciliations and providing advice to inform decision making. Experience of using complex computerised accounting systems. Experience in the management, supervision, training and support of more junior team members Experience of effectively working as part of a team. Experience of working closely with senior professionals from both a finance and a non-finance background. Demonstrable experience of major HEI research funders' policies and procedures specifically related to HEI cost recovery.
